If you’re like me, there are certain foods you just refuse to give up. Do you really think I could go a day without peanut butter? Come on. But seriously, I am all for eating the foods you like. Life is too short to cut things out of your diet, however, making that certain food a little bit healthier never hurt anyone!

Here Are a Few Alternatives For Your Favorite Foods:

  • Jif or Skippy peanut butter ———————————————–> Smucker’s Natural peanut butter

(full of sugars and hydrogenated oils)                                                     (only ingredients are roasted peanuts and salt)

  • Hershey’s milk chocolate ————————————————> Hu dark chocolate

(contains sugar, chemicals, and                                                            (no refined sugars, gluten, dairy, soy
artifical flavors (210 cal. per serving)                                                       or GMOs (170 cal. per serving)

  • Any white bread ——————————————————–> Dave’s Killer whole grain bread

(made with high frutose corn                                                          (made will all organic ingridents, GMO free,
syrup (sugar) as it’s second ingredient)                                                           and has 6 grams of protein!)

  • Prepackaged oatmeal ———————————————–> Steel cut oats

(14 grams of added sugar! Contains                                                   (0 grams of sugar, only ingredient is oats. You
artifical flavors and hydrogenated oils)                                            can add your own toppings like peanut butter or fruit)

  • Ben & Jerry’s ice cream ———————————————> Yasso frozen greek yogurt bars

(31 grams of added sugar, 11 grams of saturated fat.                                (100 cal. per serving. Only 1.5 grams of
Liquid sugar is the third ingredient)                                             saturated fat, 9 grams of added sugar. Greek
yogurt is the first ingredient)

Whether it is ice cream or chocolate, everyone has a weakness when it comes to delicious foods. There is no harm in treating yourself to a yummy snack, however these healthier alternatives are a great way to improve your health while still enjoying the food you eat! Enjoy!
