You’ve Heard it Before: WATER, WATER, WATER! I know you know it, but I’ll tell you again: you are literally 60% water! We’ve been reminded of this fact for as long as we can remember, so why can’t we remember how important it is to actually, yes I said it, actually drink water?!
In the summer months, it’s especially important to stay hydrated. It’s recommended by health professionals that you drink 8 8-ounce glasses of water a day. At first, glance that may seem like no big deal, but in the actual thick of it drinking that much water can be a challenge. Here are some tips to get you started:
Essential Hydration
- Make it the first thing you do in the day. Wake up and drink one glass of water before you do anything else. There, simple, you’ve checked off 1/8 glasses for the day!
- Before any meal you eat, drink another glass of water. That will guarantee you get 3/8 glasses of water a day, on top of your first glass in the morning. Look, we’re halfway there!
- Get yourself a drinking vessel that you can take with you anywhere. Small sips throughout the day can really add up without even thinking of it. Before you know it that pretty pink water bottle has helped you get all 8 cups in!
- Lastly, if you’re really not a big water person, try out some of the sparkling water options – they serve exactly the same purpose but have a little bit of edginess to them 😉
Repeat these steps every day until you’ve got the hang of it yourself! Drinking water has so many benefits and you’ll start seeing them right away. Your skin may seem clearer, your body may feel lighter, and your hair may feel thicker. Now, say it for me out loud: WATER, WATER, WATER!
