oatmeal

September 19, 2024 //  by Emily Hayburn

Looking for a yummy breakfast that’s healthy and doesn’t take forever to make? Well, we’ve got just the thing for you: overnight oats! These oats are not only super easy to prepare but also totally customizable to your liking.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or plant based)
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A tiny pinch of salt
  • Toppings of your choice: like fruits (berries, banana, apple), nuts (almonds, walnuts), seeds (chia, flaxseeds), or a spoonful of nut butter.

Instructions:

  1. Mix all the ingredients together in a jar or a container with a lid.
  2. Stir everything well so the oats are covered in the liquid mixture.
  3. Put the lid on and pop it in the fridge overnight.
  4. In the morning, give it a good stir, add your favorite toppings, and enjoy!

Benefits:

  • Keeps You Full: Oats have fiber that helps your tummy feel full, which is great for managing your weight.
  • Rich in Protein: Greek yogurt has protein that helps your muscles grow and repair.
  • Full of Antioxidants: Fruits like berries have antioxidants that keep your body healthy and strong.
  • Healthy Fats: Nuts and seeds have healthy fats that are good for your heart and give your oats a nice crunch.
