We all have those days where we cannot get out of bed, we mindlessly scroll through social media, spend all our money on takeout when we have food sitting in the fridge, not do the responsibilities that you had planned on doing, and ultimately we feel like our day’s been wasted.
Here are some things to remember so that you can have a peace of mind when you need it the most:
Give Yourself Grace
Understand that everyday will not feel the same. Your feelings will come in waves. You will have days when you feel like you are running the world, and days where you feel swamped by your emotions and feel that things are crashing down. Allow yourself to give grace and feel out all your feelings instead of hiding how you feel.
Develop Small Habits
Each day, have some goals that you want to accomplish and work more on. It can be assignments that you want to get done early for classes, waking up earlier, going to the gym twice a week and seeing if you want to stay consistent, calling your friends and family and updating them how you’ve been, or getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night. When sticking to things you want to improve little by little, you will start to develop a habit and it will feel natural!!
Trust the process
Know that habits do not form overnight. Remember that the consistency of your goals is key, and one day where you feel that you “messed up” your progress is not the end all be all. Let that be a reminder to take time for yourself! Enjoy a day of rest in bed and watch a movie, listen to your favorite music genre all day, and order your favorite takeout when you are having one of those days.
Patience is Key!
Following the last tip, be a patient with yourself and take steps little by little. When we do this, we can see our dreams become realities from our motivation!
