Movie Night — But Make It Healthy

Let’s face it, stay-at-home advisories call for quarantine cuddles and non-stop Netflix. While we all may love spending the evening watching a movie on the couch, your night probably doesn’t feel quite complete without a few of your favorite munchies. Next time, instead of reaching for the buttery microwave popcorn or the family-size bag of potato chips, try these movie night classics – but with a healthy twist!

Sweet or Spicy?

Use a stovetop or hot air popper to make as much plain popcorn as your heart desires. For those with a sweet tooth: mix in cinnamon, brown sugar, and a touch of salt with 1 cup of melted vegan or unsalted butter. Drizzle over popcorn and mix together in a large bowl. Those looking for a spicy snack: combine paprika, chili powder, pink-Himalayan salt, and olive oil. Drizzle over warm popcorn, and enjoy your treat with a kick!

“Nice” Cream

In a blender: add 2 frozen bananas, ¼ cup of your favorite peanut or almond butter, and ½-1 cups of almond or coconut milk (to desired texture). Blend and store in the freezer for 1-2 hours before digging in! (Tip: add mini chocolate chips if you’re a chocolate lover, like me!)

Sour-Patch-Grapes

Yep, you read that right! Slice green seedless grapes in halves spread on a baking pan and lightly sprinkle with stevia or sugar-in-the-raw. Toss them in the freezer for 1 hour before enjoying this tangy treat!

Enjoying a night of snacking shouldn’t have to be guilt-provoking! Get cozy, get creative, and be sure to share your delicious treats with someone you love.
