As the holiday season approaches, the desire for festive drinks often accompanies the joyous celebrations. However, you don’t have to compromise your health goals to enjoy a delicious and seasonal drink. Here are two delightful recipes – one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic – that will add a healthy twist to your Christmas celebrations.
1. Festive Pomegranate Spritzer (Non-Alcoholic):
Ingredients:
● 1 cup pomegranate juice (freshly squeezed or store-bought)
● 1/2 cup sparkling water
● 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
● Ice cubes
● Pomegranate arils and mint leaves for garnish
Instructions:
In a glass, combine pomegranate juice and fresh lime juice.
Add ice cubes to the glass for a refreshing chill.
Top off with sparkling water and gently stir to combine.
Garnish with pomegranate arils and a sprig of mint for a festive touch.
2. Cranberry Ginger Sparkler (Alcoholic):
Ingredients:
● 1 1/2 oz vodka or gin
● 3 oz unsweetened cranberry juice
● 1 oz ginger syrup (see instructions below)
● Sparkling water
● Fresh cranberries and rosemary sprig for garnish
Ginger Syrup:
● 1 cup water
● 1 cup granulated sugar
● 1/4 cup fresh ginger, peeled and sliced
Instructions:
For Ginger Syrup:
In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, and fresh ginger slices.
Bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
Simmer for 10 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool.
