Tips for Staying Hydrated

February 1, 2023 //  by Kate Howland

The month of June is upon us, which means the warmer spring weather is finally upon us. We all know how important hydration is year round, but it becomes increasingly important as the temps rise and we spend more time outside. One of the most forgotten ways to boost your health is to STAY HYDRATED. Hydration is tied to so many aspects of our overall health including daily energy levels, skin complexion, and workout performance!

That being said…here are some tips to help you make hydrating properly a healthy, everyday habit:

  • Flavor your water with fruits and veggies:

There are endless amounts of combinations you can use to spruce up your water! My personal favorite is a combination of lemons, limes, and cucumbers. Some other amazing combos are cucumber and mint, orange slices and blueberries, or pineapple and cucumber! The list is honestly endless!

  • Carry a water bottle with you 24/7:

This might seem like a hassle at first, but it’ll quickly become a habit for you to take water with you wherever you go. And make it fun – buy yourself a cute reusable bottle that you’ll love to bring everywhere with you! Amazon, Homegoods, and Marshalls sell a lot of cute and cheap bottles.

  • Start your day with a big glass of water:

Immediately when you wake up, drink a large glass of room temp water. Not only will it help to wake you up, but it will help to hydrate you after not consuming any fluids all night.

  • Switch it up with some herbal tea:

While caffeinated beverages are ultimately dehydrating to your system, herbal tea is caffeine-free and any cups of herbal tea imbibed throughout your day count towards your daily water intake!
